This is a simple and amazing dish that blends in tomatoes and spring onions.
You need to heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and then chopped onions. As the onion turns golden brown. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric and 1 heaped teaspoon red chilli powder. You need to know that the entire taste of this dish lies in the red chilli powder, the spicier the better. Alter the red chilli powder according to taste. Saute for 30 seconds. And then add in the tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add in a cup of chopped spring onions. Add about 1/2 cup water and allow it to cook. Stir occassional. Once you add the spring onions keep cooking on a low flame, stirring occassionally. This takes about 15 minutes to cook. About 10 minutes into the cooking, add about 3/4th spoon garam masala.
This dish is simple to prepare and tastes lovely. Goes well with chappatis!
